THE DESIGN
The Sacred Heart, crowned with thorns, above the Cristeros' battle cry: VIVA CRISTO REY - "Long live Christ the King." At the back of the neck, an invocation to the fourteen-year-old martyr executed for refusing to renounce Christ.
THE INSCRIPTION
VIVA CRISTO REY
The slogan shouted in processions, painted on walls, and carried on banners by the Ejército Libertador during the Cristero War (1926–1929), when Mexico's Calles Law sought to crush Catholic worship, ban sacraments, and silence clergy.
SANCTE IOSEPH SÁNCHEZ DEL RÍO, ESTO NEXUS FIDEI
"Saint José Sánchez del Río, be a bond of faith."
Captured at fourteen, tortured, and shot, José Sánchez del Río is a patron saint of religious liberty. His last words were: "¡Viva Cristo Rey!"
THE DEVOTION

THE INSCRIPTION
DEUS VULT
"God wills it" — a centuries-old Christian motto inviting consent to divine providence, echoing the Lord's Prayer: "Your will be done" (Matthew 6:10).
THE DEVOTION
You pray "Your will be done" every time you say the Our Father. This is patient consent to God's timing instead of forcing your own, doing the next right thing with care instead of demanding immediate results. Align your will to His and watch impatience give way to peace.
